File Hills First Nation’s Police Service hires experienced officers for lateral entry. The application process is shorter than that of a new recruit, and can be expedited. RCMP clearance and a working knowledge of First Nation’s policing and culture would be considered an asset.
RETIRED EXPERIENCED POLICE OFFICERS
The File Hills First Nations Police Service hires experienced/retired police officer constables on a full or part-time basis. For those wanting to be semi-retired we are able to accommodate a half time work schedule that would afford the employee plenty of days off. Applicants will require RCMP security clearance and a working knowledge of First Nations policing and culture would be considered an asset.
MEMBER POLICE OFFICERS
The File Hills First Nations Police Service employs sworn police officers as constable/investigators who are accountable to our communities and who understand and respect their cultures. The sworn police officers are deployed in two units located in the band offices of the Okanese and Carry the Kettle First Nations. FHFNPS police officers help ensure public safety and security, investigate crimes and enforce the law.
* Salary levels for FHFNPS Constables are compatible with other Canadian police services.
